the internet has failed me.

or at least youtube has. because what i really need to hear, right NOW, with no delays, and for FREE, is "Rock Me Amadeus" by Falco, but not the stupid version with too much german rap, no, what i need is the radio edit with the historical dates about amadeus' life and the "oo, rock me amadeus! oo, rock me amadeus!" and you know what i'm talking about if you are a child of the 80s like me, but do they *have* it on youtube? no. just hundreds of that other version and one live bastardization where they play the list of dates at the beginning of the song, and you *know* i can't have *that.*

i think i'm getting the shakes. my desired song, not instantly available? what?

*mumbles and twitches*

Re: Rock on
my record player (on the old stereo) works - we just don't have the speakers hooked up.

I hope that is the one you want. It is the original version I think at least it is, as it is exactly how I remember it to be from when I was a kid.

(*"at least I think". sorry for comment spamming!)

thank you for looking! :) i do like the song this way, but the version i'm looking for is the american radio edit, which was different in a lot of ways. since i was all obsessed with it, i did a more general search and i found it on an 80s compilation CD, and ordered it promptly!

I didn't know the american version was any different from the one we got.
YAY for finding it, though!

thank you for trying! :) that's not it, though. the one i'm looking for is short, and it starts "rock me amadeus!" with a bunch of echoes of "...amadeus, amadeus" about 15 or 16 times, before the *singing* of the same word many many times, then there's "oo, rock me amadeus" in a breathy female voice, a few times - i could almost listen to this song in my *head,* i played it so much in high school, but my ears would like to physically experience the vibrations, it seems - and now that i'm describing it it sounds like a really inane song, but with the music it was awesome, awesome i say!

(somebody around here is obviously edging toward mania this morning... ;)

this sounds like something weird al might have taken on, back in the day, if there had been an ani difranco then...

Re: try this:
this is closer, but not quite it. the one i liked, on the radio, was shorter and wilder-sounding. but this is kind of an extended, altered version of it - thanks!

Re: try this:
This one is from an 80's One Hit Wonder cd. Maybe you had a wilder radio in the 80s? :)
