2008 Books 43 & 44

43: Expiration Date, by Tim Powers (my second time reading it)

Genre of book: Fantasy/Magical Realism/What comes from the mind of Tim Powers
Grade: A+

44: Take Joy: A Writer's Guide to Loving the Craft, by Jane Yolen

Genre of book: Non-fiction, Writing
Grade: A-

This is a great book, with a different approach than the typical beginner-oriented advice, so I recommend it. I'm not sure that it guided me toward loving the craft any more than I already did, so my minor complaint is that for me, the title evoked some expectations that the book didn't meet. But it was still good. So.

I'm going to post my whole list of books for the year next, thus fulfilling my mandatory end-of-year-assessment journalling requirements as I understand them per meme absorption from the Greater Livejournal Hivemind.
