1. It's antonstrout day! I hope that trout parties hard. I very wisely pre-ordered Anton's book, Dead to Me , in 2007, so I can look forward to reading it soon. I suggest you all go over and buy several copies each.

2. Oddly, I'm more familiar with the listings on the preliminary Bram Stoker Award ballot than I am with the ones on the preliminary Nebula ballot. I can't vote on either of them (yet!), but for the former I suggest that all wise and honorable folks should vote for the writings of Gary Braunbeck and Lucy Snyder. For the latter, I can say that Jennifer Pelland and William Shunn deserve some votage. I'm sure that the other entries must be good too, but I haven't read them yet.

3. I finally read "The Lottery," by Shirley Jackson, the other day. Even though I knew the ending ahead of time, it still made me all shivery.

4. I'm definitely going to Norwescon in March, and Baycon in May, which means not Wiscon in May.
