2008 Books #9: Cowboys Are My Weakness, by Pam Houston
A collection of short stories about women who are strong in many ways, but who live for their relationships with a parade of appallingly ill-behaved men. The stories are well-written and absorbing, with turns of phrase that made me smile even in the middle of being pissed off about those nasty men, and sorry for/annoyed by the women who convince themselves that the men are worth chasing after. That's a clever trick. I liked this collection, but didn't love it as much as Houston's Waltzing the Cat.
