Progress report

70 Days of Sweat, Day Ten: 1,100 words.

Total: 10,500 words.

Current short story ("The Restive Window"): 3,700 words. I am passionately in love with this story! And it's almost done. I think I'll finish the rough draft tomorrow.

In other news: Felix's first day at daycare was a success! He ate well, took a nap, and didn't fuss much at all. He hasn't been clingy since coming home, either. This may vary, but I'll take the good outcome for today. :)

While he was there, I came home and wrote 700 words, and was relaxed for the morning, and then I went out to lunch and read a book while eating tasty diner food. After lunch, I went across the street to my favorite coffee shop, where I chatted with my friend Kat and then wrote what turned out to be another 400 words. Then I went to the library for about 20 minutes, while waiting to pick Zane up, and we went over to get Felix after that.

And it was springlike outside! Glorious, I say--nothing short of glorious. :)

And I get to do more of it tomorrow! ::bounce::

Glad things went well with Felix. We changed sitters for my son Calvin today and things went pretty well there too. Very little fussing and I hear he got some serious napping in! He had plent of other kids to keep him busy too, so I don't think the new environment freaked him out. Couldn't ask for a better result, really.

Nice work on the story progress. Hope the draft comes out well!

Hey, I meant to drop you a line sooner, but I won 3rd place in the Odyssey Con flash/prose poem contest and I plan on attending the Con after all. It sounds like a good time and I'm really looking forward to it. Hope I can catch up with you and talk a little more than we did at Context.

I'm glad things worked out well for Calvin. Making changes in a little one's routine can be a harrowing business, and it's always good to hear the positive outcomes. :)

Congratulations on winning the prize! It would be great to get to talk to you more than I did last time. I think I'll be around mostly by day for OddCon.

Sounds like a well-adjusted young man. Hats off to his mom for part of that independent nature.
