Hello, last week or so of December, and my woefully neglected flist
In case you're wondering, I do actually still read LJ, and at least once a day I form an intention to post about something here. What happens next is 4 p.m., when it starts to get dark outside, and any observer can see the sudden and visible plummeting of my energy level. I should winter in Australia, that's what. It's the only practical solution. Sure, I could get a lightbox and take vitamin D and become a functional citizen even in the evenings, right here in the U.S.A., but in Australia the extra light is free and it comes with hot weather! All I need is some sort of patron or genie or whatever to hook me up with a plane ticket and a nice beachfront cabin, where I can watch the waves and try to avoid the lethal creatures that I hear are all over the place down there. Bill Bryson says so.
Oh, so you wanted real information about what I'm doing, and not just the ramblings of my inner fantasyland? Perhaps an idea of what December has been like for me? Well, I haven't drawn much this month. I've been writing a lot this month, but having some frustrating problems with the stories I want to finish, but getting some very useful and supportive advice from my friend kenscholes, who is adorable. I have found several old friends and acquaintances through Facebook, too. I've done all my holiday shopping. I'm my normal, energetic self by daylight, but there just isn't very much of that. I did manage to get perky for my thirty-seventh birthday party, though, because I do like a sparkly party.
Also, I heard some big awesome news early this month, and that's been the best thing EVAR, but I'm not saying what until it's all official. So watch for that!
