Books I read in May, 2009

It was another month of crazed busy-ness around here in May. I did a little off-duty, non-slush reading, but not a lot. In other news: I think I'll have a post about the intersection of writing and art ready this week. On to the books!

1. Writing the Breakout Novel, by Donald Maass. Nonfiction, writing.

2. Portable Childhoods, by Ellen Klages (for the second time). Fantasy and science-oriented short stories.

Short Stories
(This category only includes published stories read a la carte from magazines and websites; it does not include anthologies, collections, or slush).

1. "Sin Eater" - Emma Bull; Shadow Unit
2. "Garkain" - Samantha Henderson; Fantasy Magazine
